I wrote love, light & listen on a post-it note at the beginning of the school year and kept it by my computer all year. As the end of the year approaches I’m reminded how sometimes these seem to be some of the only things we can control. And just how powerful they are. We get to be light for others, listen with intent and love deep. Some of y’all are the light in people’s darkness.

There are moments and tragedies in life where words don’t suffice, like there will never be “the right words to say.” But there is power and healing in presence and love. In being the light in their darkness. And when you experience heartache that never ceases that’s when you know you’ve loved and been loved beyond understanding. This is Jesus. He is love & he’s called us to love others.
