There are many parallels in life at the tension that is held during Holy Week. The suffering that has to take place before Sunday comes. We see it all around us on smaller scales. We feel it as we experience pain and hope for a specific outcome. I heard & felt it last week as I supported some of my students processing immense hurt & trauma.
Trauma has become a buzzword these days and it’s a word that needs more understanding. Trauma: “a distressing event that overwhelms a person’s ability to cope, resulting in lasting negative impacts on their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.” There are many types of trauma and it’s hard to know how each individual person will be impacted.
But what I do know is that having one caring & loving person in your life can help bring neurons back together, create new pathways in your brain, and heal parts of the brain that were impacted. Be that person. Beconnected with others in a way that makes them feel safe enough to share. Be a glimpse of Jesus to them.
Sunday is coming.
